Cyber Education is available in Oklahoma. From world class university programs to small scale study groups and everything in between.


Higher Education

There are 27 degree granting institutions in Oklahoma that offer Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology (IT), and related degrees, many offer classes and or certificates programs in cyber security. The institutions listed below have specific degree programs in Cyber Security. Each of these institutions is also recognized as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity by the National Security Agency and works to maintain 1, 2 or 3 different designations in Cybersecurity Education , Research, and Operations.


The University of Tulsa

TU has been a designated Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance and Cyber Defense Education by the federal government since 2000 and was one of the first 14 institutions awarded this distinction. TU also is recognized by the federal government as a CAE in IA Research and Cyber Operations. TU alumni are employed worldwide in leading roles among the private and public sectors as well as academia.

TU offers multiple programs for students who want to advance in integral areas of cybersecurity and computer science such as applications development and maintenance, system administration, network administration, policy development, training, management, academic or industry.


Oklahoma Christian University

OC is the first four-year institution to be awarded in the Oklahoma City metroplex.

Oklahoma Christian University (OC) has been recognized by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education (CAE-CD).

Through its B.S. Computer Science with Cybersecurity program and the OC Cybersecurity Education Center, the University provides the hands-on skills and knowledge necessary to prepare professionals to effectively investigate, detect, identify, and solve cybersecurity issues and challenges.


Oklahoma State University

The Master of Science in Information Assurance (MSIA) program at Oklahoma State University (OSU) offers a unique blend of managerial coursework and hands-on applications that enables graduates to understand information assurance in the business. Topics include telecommunications, risk, offensive and defensive practices, and legal issues.

OSU is a designated Center for Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education and Research. Our IA curriculum is recognized and approved by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security. The university is also home to the Center for Telecommunications and Network Security.


Oklahoma City Community College

As an institution accredited by the Higher Learning Commission since 1977, OCCC is committed to the long-term success of information security training and education. OCCC is proud to offer the first three CNSS Certifications (CNSS 4011, 4012, and 4013i) to our students. We support many students who are currently employed by State and Federal agencies in the Oklahoma City area and feel that these offerings, and what they represent, are of great value to both current and future employees in both the public and private sectors.


Rose State College

Rose State College offers degrees and certificate programs that prepare you for careers that are in demand, whether you are interested in advancing your career, getting back to work, or entering the workforce for the first time.

The digital forensics option focuses on networking, local area networks, remote access, data recovery, data analysis and basic reverse engineering. The cyber security emphasis also includes an understanding of mobile / wireless, and remote access technologies, along with forensic investigation methods. Students are prepared to pass industry certification exams. An ethics agreement is required for cyber security / digital forensics majors.


Career Tech

Oklahoma CareerTech is often used as a model for programs across the United States and around the world. The Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education provides leadership and resources and assures standards of excellence for a comprehensive statewide system of career and technology education. The system offers programs and services in 29 technology center districts operating on 58 campuses, 394 K-12 school districts, 16 Skills Centers campuses that include three juvenile facilities and 32 Adult Basic Education service providers.

Career Tech offers a multiple Cyber Security programs at 11 of their Technology Centers across the state.
